Our Childcare Philosophy

The Early Years Foundation Stage, 2012, states "Every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential." This is why ABC 123 ensure all staff are trained and qualified in Early Years and are competent in working with young children.

The staff in each room carefully plan the learning environment to provide development opportunities, reflecting on each child's individual needs and interests. This is to ensure all children are included, supported and valued. We ensure this is of the highest quality by the child's Key Person carrying out observations, and completing progress and tracking forms with the input from parents/ carers.

The environment is organised to promote a child's independence. We have clearly defined areas to accommodate different areas of development. The children have access to a wide range of resources to encourage creativity and develop and promote skills and independence. We put equal emphasis on quiet areas such as the book corner, where children can enjoy stories, rhymes and songs, or sit and relax with their peers.

We also have the great outdoor facilities to support learning in the garden.

Regular trips to the local park, library and garden centre also guides children in making sense of the physical world in their community.
